The City of Douglas hereby gives notice that the City of Douglas will hold a public meeting on Monday, December 13, 2021, 5pm at the CE Weir Center located at 307 East Bryan Street, Douglas, Georgia, 31533.  The purpose of this meeting will be to seek public input regarding Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades. Public participation is considered essential to the development of the final plan of upgrades to be adopted for a “Notice of No Significant Impact” by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division.

 

The City of Douglas is committed to ensuring compliance and works to make certain that all management, staff and service recipients are aware of the provisions and responsibilities of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in any program or activity that receives Federal funds or other Federal financial assistance. All programs and operations of entities that receive assistance from the federal government must comply with provisions outlined under this Act.  The Grant Administrator of the Community Development Department is responsible for implementing, monitoring and ensuring the City of Douglas’ compliance with Title VI of the City Rights Acts of 1964. Persons with special needs relating to handicapped accessibility or foreign language should contact Ms. Christian Mikell, before December 12, 2021.  This person can be located at the City of Douglas Community Development Department, 211 S. Gaskin Avenue, Douglas, Georgia, and is available between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays, or you may call 912-383-0277.  Persons with hearing disabilities may consider using the Georgia Relay Service, at (TDD) 1-800-255-0056 or (Voice) 1-800-255-0135.
