Vonnita Lowery, age 75, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Landmark Hospital in Savannah, Georgia following an extended illness. Mrs. Lowery was born on March 16, 1946, to the late Aubrey Hugh Powell and Novella Sophie Graham Powell.

 

Survivors include: Her daughter; Tammy Lowery Boyd (Charlie) of Douglas, GA, Two Grandchildren; Tyler Metts (Kelsey) of Dublin, GA, Jordan Metts of Douglas, GA, Sister; Vera Googe of Douglas, GA, Brothers; Julius “Bo” Powell (Peggy) of Warner Robbins, GA, and Donnie Powell (Jill) of Thomasville, GA. Along with her parents, Mrs. Lowery was preceded in death by; Her Husband; Bennie Lowery, and a Brother; Odell Powell.

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at Sims Funeral Home.

 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 11:00AM, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Chancey officiating.

 

The interment will follow at the Douglas City Cemetery.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all customers, guests, and attendees to wear medical grade masks at all times while in our facility, as well as social distancing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of our staff and those we serve are our primary concern. Masks will not be provided.
