Mrs. Regina Hersey Williams, age 82, of Pearson, GA, passed away Wednesday morning, April 20, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Williams was born April 7, 1940 to the late Fisher Hersey and the late Levine Purvis Hersey. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother, Orrian Hersey and 2 sisters, Cherylene Batten and Liz Sapp.

 

Mrs. Williams, a native of Coffee County, had lived in Atkinson County for many years. She was a homemaker and also had served along side of her husband in the ministry. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Church in Atkinson County.

 

Survivors include:

 

Her Husband of 63 years: Rev. Charles Williams of Pearson, GA

 

Children: Charles Williams and wife Cathy of Broxton, GA
Mark Williams and wife Janice of Pearson, GA
Tim Williams and wife Penny of Pearson, GA

 

Brother: Ken Hersey and wife Sandy of Douglas, GA

 

8 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends

 

The funeral service will be held Saturday morning, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Wesley Chapel Church in Atkinson County with Rev. Dody Hersey, Rev. David Rowe and Rev. Teddy Burch officiating. The interment will follow at Royals Cemetery in Atkinson County.

 

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, April 22, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Robert Morgan, John Morgan, Stephen Batten, James Burnam, Drew Davis and Samuel Williams.

 

Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be: Stan Wilkes, Sambo Sumner, Joe Beverly and Shane Hersey.

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
