Mr. Waymon Donald Ricketson, age 86, of Broxton, GA, passed away Thursday morning May 26, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Ricketson was born November 8, 1935 to the late Robert Taft Ricketson and the late Fannie Lott Ricketson. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Stevie Ricketson: 3 Brothers: Vilas Ricketson, R. T. Ricketson and J. M. Ricketson; 6 Sisters: Ivella Smith Gillum, Mary Alice Ricketson, Juanita Foskey, Juanelle McCallum, Ruby Johnson and Dorothy Griffin Thurman. 

 

 

Mr. Ricketson, a native of Coffee County, was a prominent Jeff Davis County farmer. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

His wife: Kaye Kight Ricketson of Broxton, GA 

 

 

Sons: Donnie Ricketson and wife Gerri of Snipesville, GA 

Jimmy Ricketson and wife Twanda of Douglas, GA 

Keith Ricketson and wife Victoria of Walterboro, SC 

 

 

Daughter-in-Law: Sue Ricketson Giles (wife of Stevie) of Douglas, GA 

 

 

Brother: Charles Ricketson and wife Dorothy of Denton, GA 

 

 

Sister: Arletha Ricketson Tate of Denton, GA 

 

 

13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren 

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. 

 

 

The funeral service will be Monday afternoon, May 30, 2022 at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. William Pope and Rev. Terry Brown officiating. The interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Jeff Davis County. 

 

 

The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon, May 30, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Providence Baptist Church. 

 

 

The active pallbearers for the service will be: Randy Ricketson, Ray Ricketson, Glen Kight, Marcus Ricketson, Jamie Tate and Van Wooten, Darrell Carter and Drew Moore.. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
