Mr. Lester Hampton, age 77 of Douglas, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his home following an extended illness. 

 

 

Mr. Hampton was born July 13, 1945 to the late John Leslie Hampton and the late Ethel Cooper Hampton. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: John “Buddy” Hampton and Ed Lott; 1 Son-in-Law; Donnie Rabon and 1 Great Grand Daughter: Rihanna Shivers. 

 

 

Mr. Hampton, a native of Coffee County, has been a mechanic with the City of Douglas. He also worked in the Logging business and the poultry industry. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

His Wife: Patricia Ann Norman Hampton of Douglas, GA 

 

 

6 Daughters: Lisa Hampton of Roberta, GA 

Vickie Hines and Darlene Rabon both of Mississippi 

Sheryl Bohannon of Hazelhurst, GA 

Emily Forett of Douglas, GA 

Diane Roberson of Douglas, GA 

 

 

1 Sister: Margaret Hampton of Douglas, GA 

 

 

17 Grandchildren 26 Great Grandchildren 19 Great-Great Grandchildren 

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. 

 

 

The funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon August 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Littlejohn officiating. The interment will follow in Douglas City Cemetery. 

 

 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, August 2, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
