Mrs. Glenda Carver, age 75 of Douglas, Ga. passed away, Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas, Ga. after a brief illness.  She was born, October 16, 1946, in Axson, Ga., the daughter of Myles Lester Cowart and Thelma Boyce Neugent.  

 

 

Mrs. Carver made her home in the Atkinson and Coffee County areas, where she raised her family working for many years at Coats & Clark and, also taking great pride in caring for her children, as a homemaker.  Mrs. Carver enjoyed spending time with her family, whether it was in the kitchen baking and cooking, or going out shopping.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Carver, Sr., and great granddaughter; Aberlyn Gail Rish.

 

 

Survivors include:  

 

 

Daughter:  Sheila Rish and husband, Bobby of Douglas, Ga.

 

 

Son:  Alvin Carver, Jr. of Douglas, Ga.

 

 

Mother:  Thelma Darley of Kirkland, Ga.

 

 

3 Grandchildren:  Abbey Gayle Rish

Dylan Rish

Todd Carver

 

 

Great-Grandchild:  Tinsley Nicole Justice

 

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Carver were held Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Relihan Funeral Home Chapel in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Teddy Burch and Rev. Joseph Cochran officiating.  Special musical selections included, “Only Passing Through” and “Jealous of the Angels” both rendered by cd.  The interment followed in Satilla Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Douglas, Ga.

 

 

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Alvin Carver, Jr., Shannon Ricketson, Michael Herring, Willie Wilson, Fred Cole and Wes Carter. 

 

 

Relihan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
