Richard “Ricky” Emory Carver, age 63, of Nicholls, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022. Mr. Carver was born on October 18, 1958, in Douglas, GA to the late Emory Carver and the late Barbara Jean Merritt.

 

 

Survivors include: Wife: Shirley Highsmith of Nicholls, GA, Two Daughters: Barbara Marisa Carver of Dublin, GA, Harper Rae Newell of Douglas, Ga, Two Sons: Richard Brandon (Gina) Carver of New Jersey, Ryan Emory Carver of Douglas, GA, Three Step-Sons: Daniel Highsmith of Douglas, GA, Alex Cato of Douglas, GA, Brandon Highsmith of Fernandina Beach, FL, Step-Daughter: Raegan Walsh of Douglas, GA, Sister: Rhonda Jean (Wesley) Wilson, Brother: A.J. (Rhonda) Saeed of Douglas, GA, Fourteen Grandchildren and several Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, and Great Nephews. Mr. Carver was preceded in death by Father: Emory Carver and Mother: Barbara Jean Merritt.

 

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Sims Funeral Home.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 11:00AM at Reedy Branch Baptist Church.  Interment followed at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Mike Davis, Edward English, Jason Sweat, Terry English, Victor Tanner, and Walter Sweat. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ronnie McClendon, Joe Sweat, Eric Strickland and Larry Douglas.

 

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. highly encourages all guests and attendees to wear face masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.
