Trojan wrestlers finish second at Jeff Davis Duals meet

The Coffee Trojan wrestling team finished with an impressive 8-1 record at the Jeff Davis Duals tournament over the weekend, placing 2nd out of 26 teams. Coffee had six wrestlers go undefeated at the tournament.

 

 

• Freshman Edwin Burt finished undefeated with a 2-0 record with 2 pins at heavyweight. 

• Freshman Tyler Miller undefeated with a 2-0 record with 2 pins. 

• Sophomore Chico (Zacirion) Reed finished undefeated with a 7-0 record with 2 pins and a tech fall. 

• Junior Pablo Nunez finished undefeated with a 7-0 record. 

• Senior Dane Rish finished the tournament undefeated with a 7-0 record with 6 pins and an overtime victory. 

• Sophomore Arthur Reed was undefeated with a 9-0 record with 4 pins, 1 minor, 1 major and 1 tech fall. 

• Arthur Reed is the “Warrior of the Week,” scoring the most team points of the tournament with a total of 47 team points

Coffee over Montgomery County 65-14

Coffee over Lexington in the semifinals 40-34

Coffee loses to Brunswick in the finals 30-45
