Mitchell Paulk, 36, has been arrested on multiple charges after he reportedly assaulted a female, eventually threatening to drown her in a bathtub. According to the incident report, a 5-year-old and another child under a year old were in the home at the time of the alleged assault.

The report states that on February 13, an officer was dispatched to a residence regarding a possible domestic dispute. When the officer arrived, he knocked on the door and stated that he heard a woman screaming for help. As the officer was about to kick in the door, Paulk opened it.

According to the officer, as soon as the door opened, Paulk dropped to his knees and put his hands on his head. A woman stood at the foot of a bed, holding two children and crying for help.

During questioning, the officer noted in the report that Paulk was sweating profusely and had blood on his jacket. The report states that Paulk told the officer that he was okay but that he and the woman had gotten into a fight over her alleged drug use. He claimed they were punching and kicking one another. He also said she bit him. However, Paulk refused medical assistance from EMS. He added there was molly in the victim’s vehicle. (The victim later stated that the molly belong to Paulk.)

The officer then spoke to the female, who alleged that Paulk came in and began questioning her. She said she believed he was high and paranoid. As such, she walked into the bathroom to get away.

The report states that Paulk followed her into the bathroom, closed the door, and locked it. He then, according to the victim, grabbed her by her neck, began choking her, and then slammed her into the bathtub. The victim also stated that while the assault occurred, Paulk threatened to drown her. He eventually let go of her and they hit and kicked each other.

The report noted that throughout the alleged altercation, both children witnessed everything that occurred. The officer’s report states that he asked the female if there were drugs anywhere, and she responded that she believed molly was in the car. She stated that Paulk was a molly user and he had just been in her car.

The officer searched the car and found suspected molly in the vehicle.

Paulk was taken into custody on multiple charges, including false imprisonment, aggravated assault (family violence), and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree (family violence). If convicted, Paulk faces up to 36 years in prison.

Documents filed in the Superior Court of Coffee County show that Paulk has had multiple convictions in the past, including a possession of cocaine conviction in Cobb County in 2007, which resulted in a one-year prison sentence. However, he served eight months and was released from Montgomery State Prison in November 2009.

Paulk was denied bond on all charges and remains in custody at the Coffee County Jail.
