Trojan track teams compete in Hiram Johnson Invitational at Lowndes

The Coffee High track teams traveled to Valdosta to participate in the Hiram Johnson Underclassman Invitational on March 29, 2023. 

 

 

Coach Johnson is a Douglas native who served Lowndes High as a decorated track coach for many years. The Lowndes High track bears his name. Only freshmen and sophomores could participate in this meet. The Trojan men finished third while the women finished fifth.

 

 

Here are the first place finishers for the Trojans:

 

 

Jayden Hancock cleared 39 feet and 9.5 inches in the triple jump. 

Travis Adams in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.12 seconds. 

The 4X200 meter relay team of Jaquon Harrison, James Jarrard, Tyrese Woodgett, and Travis Adams ran a 1:33.46 to finish first. 

Tyrese Hansley had a big throw of 134 and 3 inches in the discus. 

Here are the athletes who scored points in the meet: 

Jaquan Harrison: 100 meter dash (2nd) and 200 meter dash (3rd)

Jayden Hancock: 100 meter dash (3rd) and long jump (2nd)

KJ Smith: 200 meter dash (6th) and triple jump (2nd)

Joshua Cribb: 800 meter run (3rd)

James Jarrard 110 meter hurdles (2nd) and 300 meter hurdles (4th)

Andre Brewton 110 meter hurdles (4th) and 300 meter hurdles (5th)

4X100 meter relay team of KJ Smith, Jayden Hancock, Zean Preston, and Jaquan Harrison (2nd)

4×400 meter relay team of Daniel Ornelas, Andre Brewton, Khari Jefferson, and Joshua Cribb (5th)

Jeremiah Bazzell: High Jump (6th)

Jaydon Vester: shot put (6th)

Deneisha Young : shot put (5th).

 

 

The following Trojans set personal records at the meet: 

 

 

Travis Adams – 100 meter dash (11.12), Jayden Hancock – 100 meter dash (11.84), Denya Young: 100 meter dash (14.16) and 200 meter dash (30.11); Jaquan Harrison – 200 meter dash (24.46), KJ Smith – 200 meter dash (24.85), Charity Sams: 200 meter dash (31.66); Camellia Scott: 200 meter dash (34.16); Jaydyn Williams – 400 meter dash (1:01.12), DeCarion Graves – 400 meter dash (1:03.85), Joshua Cribb – 800 meter run (2:22.94), Brain Stafford 800 meter run (2:43.95), Fabian Romero 800 meter run (2:46.22), Jayden Hancock triple jump (39-9.5), and Jaydon Vester shot put (33-2).
