Coffee’s Fred Brown #7 in rushing yards in state

Coffee running back Fred Brown is having one of the best seasons of any back in the state. Currently, five games in, Brown is ranked #7 in the state in rushing with 827 yards on 120 carries.

 

 

Brown, a 5’10”, 200 pound senior who was Friday night’s Player of the Game, is also leading 5A in rushing and is ranked 241st in the nation, according to MaxPreps. His eight touchdowns are tops in Region 1-5A and sixth in 5A statewide. 

 

 

With the region schedule looming, Brown is averaging 165.4 yards per game. In Friday’s win over 7A Richmond Hill, Brown had 212 yards on 29 carries and two touchdowns. He’s rushed for at least 100 yards in each game and has two games (Tift County and Richmond Hill) with over 200 yards rushing.
