The Coffee Trojan’s 62-6 win over the Bradwell Institute Tigers Friday night was the largest margin of victory in a region game in program history. The 56-point win eclipsed the previous region record of 54 points, which came on November 5, 1982, against Glynn Academy. The Trojans shut out Glynn Academy 54-0 that night.

And as you might expect, the usual suspects topped the Coffee Trojans’ stat lines in Friday’s win.

The Trojans rushed a total of 30 times; senior running back Fred Brown had 17 of those carries for 134 yards and three touchdowns. It was his first three touchdown game of the season. His longest run was 23 yards.

Brown wasn’t the only Trojan with a hat trick. After missing several weeks with an ankle injury, senior quarterback Maurice Hansley was back under center Friday night. He finished the night completing seven of nine passes for 128 yards and three touchdown passes of his own. He came away with a 158.6 passer rating. Senior Anthony Paulk benefited the most from Hansley’s arm; he caught two passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. Paulk also rushed for a touchdown.

Defensively, senior defensive end Elgie Paulk terrorized the Tigers all night. He tallied a team best nine tackles (two solo, seven assists), four tackles for a loss, and three sacks. Junior linebacker Jyarius Carter wracked up seven tackles (four solo, three assists). Carter is leading the team with 5.5 tackles per game. Senior Jaquavious Simpkins blocked a punt and intercepted a Bradwell Institute pass while junior Isaiah Johnson added an interception of his own.

The undefeated Trojans travel to Statesboro this Friday to face the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m.
