Douglas National Bank (DNB) recently presented a check for $250,000 to redirect their 2023 Georgia income tax liability to help support Coffee Regional Medical Center (CRMC) through the Georgia HEART Hospital Program.

DNB President and CEO Stuart Smith stated, “We are proud of our partnership and increasing association with CRMC. At DNB, our mission goes beyond banking. As the only bank with its sole location and headquarters in Coffee County, it is important to show strong support for such a key pillar of our community. We are proud to call Douglas and Coffee County home and focus all of our resources here. For our community and customers to continue to thrive we must have a stable and strong healthcare provider.”

Ms. Vicki Lewis, CRMC President and CEO, commented, “The very generous support from Douglas National Bank is invaluable in our efforts to provide the best care for our patients close to home. We are so thankful for partners like DNB and believe these funds will have a lasting and positive impact on the health of our community now and in the years to come.”

The Georgia HEART Hospital Program works in conjunction with the Georgia Rural Hospital Tax Credit Bill (Senate Bill 258), enabling individuals and businesses to redirect their Georgia income tax liability to help support qualifying hospitals. Participation in the Georgia HEART Program is limited to Georgia hospitals that meet qualifying criteria established by the law.

Coffee Regional Medical Center is one of fifty-five hospitals currently eligible in the program and is ranked 14th in terms of financial need by the Department of Community Health. There is still time to participate in 2023. For more information on the benefits of the Georgia HEART Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program, please contact Walda Kight, CRMC Foundation Director, at 912-383-6910.
