Mrs. Margaret Brigmond McDaniel, age 82 of Douglas, passed away early Sunday morning, October 29, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born, January 6, 1941 to the late Maude Sapp Brigmond and the late Lawrence Brigmond. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion “Mac” McDaniel; 1 Sister: Evelyn Cox; 1 Brother: Johnny Brigmond; 2 Brothers-in-Law: Raymond Clifton and J. W. Spell; and 1 Daughter-in-law: Tammy Sue Powell McDaniel.

 

 

Mrs.McDaniel, a native of Douglas, GA, had been employed with Southern Bell as an operator and had retired from the City of Douglas in the purchasing department. She was a member of West Ward Church of God.

 

 

Survivors include:

 

 

2 Children: Michael McDaniel of Nicholls, GA

Mark McDaniel of Douglas, GA

 

 

2 Sisters: Edna Spell of Odessa, FL
Jeannine Clifton of Jacksonville, FL

 

 

1 Brother: Donnie and Judy Brigmond of Douglas, GA

 

 

3 Grandchildren: Michelle and Andy Knowles of Nicholls, GA
Michael and Heather McDaniel of Pearson, GA
Matthew McDaniel of Douglas, GA

 

 

7 Great Grandchildren: Lagen, Jadeyn, Hunter, Ella, Mason, Madden and Claire.

 

 

1 Sister-in-Law: Lois Brigmond of Douglas, GA

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

 

 

The family will receive friends, Friday evening, November 3, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

 

The funeral service will be Saturday morning, November 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at West Ward Church of God with Bishop Britt Peavy officiating. The interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.

 

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Mike McDaniel, Jr., Matthew McDaniel, Andy Knowles, John Roberts, Casey Thompson and Curt Thompson.

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
