Kyric Davis had 19 points and seven rebounds while four other players scored in double figures as South Georgia State College defeated the Santa Fe College Saints Tuesday night, 79-63.

Yannis Woods and Lay Davis each finished with 14 points. Woods grabbed 10 rebounds, and Davis had seven rebounds and five assists. Jo Jo Bell and Amren Hoard rounded out the top scorers with 10 points each.

The Hawks (7-4) did not attempt a free throw in the first half but made up for it by shooting 93 percent (14-of-15) in the final 20 minutes. SGSC’s defense held Santa Fe College to 38.6 percent shooting and forced 27 turnovers.

SGSC will host the 2023 B-Mac’s Christmas Classic this Friday and Saturday in Waycross, featuring Albany Tech, Daytona State College, and Oakleaf Post Grad Basketball Academy. Daytona State is ranked No. 3 in the latest NJCAA Division I basketball poll.

The Hawks will play Oakleaf Friday at 8 p.m. and will face No. 3 Daytona State Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.

The SGSC athletic department has announced a change in ticket pricing for home basketball games. All regular season home games are now $7 with children five and under admitted free.
