Jo Jo Bell and Kyric Davis scored a combined total of 51 points Saturday afternoon as the South Georgia State College Hawks held on to defeat the Central Georgia Tech Titans 77-69.

Bell had 33 points and eight rebounds, while Davis finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists.

The game was close statistically. The Hawks led in field goal percentage (49-44 percent) and three-point shooting (29-24 percent). The difference was at the free throw line. The Titans made 75 percent of their free throws but only had eight total attempts. The Hawks shot 70 percent from the free throw line, making 21 of their shots.

Saturday’s win followed SGSC’s 73-71 victory against East Georgia State Jan. 10 in Swainsboro.

The Hawks host Andrew College this Wednesday at 7 p.m. for another conference matchup. SGSC travels to Georgia Highlands Jan. 20 and will return to the Douglas Campus Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. to face Gordon State.

The SGSC athletic department has announced a change in ticket pricing for home basketball games. All regular season home games are now $7 with children five and under admitted free.
