On March 23, Coffee County 4-H attended Cloverleaf District Project Achievement hosted at Bacon County Middle/High school in Alma.

Eight Coffee County students presented projects on various topics; each of them brought home a medal. These students worked for several weeks preparing a speech and presentation. Fourth graders Macie Buese and Jessa Hall, fifth Grader Kady McClendon and sixth graders Scott Smith and Alyia Hall, received first place in their respective projects. second place winners included fifth grader Laken Paulk and sixth grader Mason Harper. Ben Buese, a sixth grader placed third or his project.

The goal of Macie’s and Jessa’s projects was to prepare a no-bake heathy snack within an hour time limit, demonstrating basic kitchen skills. Kady competed in the Historic Events project area and made a presentation on World War I. Scott presented on saltwater marshes in the Marine and Coastal Ecology project. Alyia shared about her favorite wild animal – tigers in the Wildlife category. Laken competed in the Health project area; she presented on interventional radiology, which is a career path she would like to pursue. Mason’s project was about his favorite sport, archery. Ben also presented on his favorite sport, which is soccer.

Coffee County 4-H is very proud of these 4-H’ers for sharing their knowledge on such a wide variety of subjects and working to develop their presentation and speaking skills.

For more information on Project Achievement or any other Coffee 4-H programs, please contact the Extension/4-H Office at (912) 384-1402.
