Sandra Setzekorn Ashcraft Thrower, born April 21, 1949, passed away January 27, 2024, in Vidalia, Georgia, after a long illness.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Richard Thrower of Douglas, Georgia; his sister, Paula Mobley; and brother, James Corbett Thrower; her sons, Russell Ashcraft and wife Rachel of Oklahoma, Johnson Ashcraft and wife Kelsey; and nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jere Sinone, and husband Barry; brothers, Russell Setzekorn Jr and wife Catherine, Robert Setzekorn and wife Linda, all of Texas.
Her mother, Genevieve Setzekorn (1958), preceded her in death, and father, Russell Setzekorn Sr. (1998); stepmother, Mary Setzekorn (2012); husband of 33 years, Bobby D. Ashcraft (2005); son Sean Ashcraft (2007); and stepbrother Darryl Cooper (2010).
Sandra was a person of deep Christian faith who trusted she would be reunited with her loved ones after death. She was a highly creative and multitalented artist in many different media. As a lay minister, she was deeply committed to volunteer work with her church and her personally directed programs, always offering kindness and support to those in need, including bringing many into her home for a fresh start in their lives.
Her family appreciates the care and companionship she received in her final years from the caregivers of the Oaks at Bethany in Vidalia, Georgia.
