It was with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lynette Cornelison, who left us on March 21, 2024, in Cummings Georgia, at the age of 87. Lynette was born on December 17, 1936, in Douglas, Georgia, to her late parents, Lillian Fales and Lynn Tanner.

Lynette dedicated her life to the pursuit of knowledge and education. She served as a school teacher at Satilla Elementary and later in Orange County Public Schools, where she imparted wisdom and guidance to countless young minds. Upon retiring, Lynette embraced her role as a homemaker, pouring her love and devotion into her family as a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother.

Lynette is survived by her daughter and son and their spouses, Teresa Polino (Steve), her son Mac Cornelison (Kim). She leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren Kinny (Alicia), Amanda, and Drake, as well as her great-grandchildren Liam, Florence, Daisy, and Liliana. Lynette is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth ‘Jo’ Baldwin (Jerry), and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and extended family members whose lives she touched with her kindness and grace.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Cornelison, Two brothers, Dr. Clyde Tanner and Wallace Tanner.

Throughout her life, Lynette exemplified compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones. Her memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
