The season didn’t end the way the CCA Patriots wanted it to. Even though the Patriots finished with over 20 wins (22-11), an exit in the second round of the playoffs wasn’t what the CCA faithful expected.

There is, however, a little consolation in the form of postseason awards. Six Patriots made either All Region, All State, or both. All six players are underclassmen and one — Thomas Gentry — is an 8th grader. CCA also had the region player of the year in sophomore Blake Bryant.

Here are the All Region/All State selections:

Blake Bryant (sophomore) – GIAA Region 3AA All Region, GIAA AA All-State, GIAA Region 3AA Player of the Year, Finished #2 in strikeouts in GIAA and #10 in Georgia with 97 Ks in just 58 innings.

Thomas Gentry (8th grade) – GIAA Region 3AA All Region, GIAA AA All- State, Finished #15 in GIAA in strikeouts with 60 in just 38 innings.

Gray McLean (sophomore) – GIAA Region 3AA All Region, GIAA AA All-State Honorable Mention, #2 in GIAA in runs scored, #1 in GIAA in stolen bases and #5 in Georgia with 44 stolen bases.

Jonathan Rutland (junior) –  GIAA Region 3AA All Region, GIAA AA All-State Honorable Mention, #6 in GIAA in strikeouts with 77 in just 55 innings. Finished with a .391 batting average.

Landon Williams (sophomore) – GIAA Region 3 AA All Region Honorable Mention

Taeven Harden (freshman) – GIAA Region 3 AA All Region Honorable Mention
