Wiregrass Georgia Technical College will be hosting a Sign-Up Commercial Truck Driving Day on the Coffee Campus on Thursday, July 25. Classes will begin on August 12. This event will help applicants to complete the steps for applying for the program.  A representative from the college’s One-Stop will assist applicants in registering for class, completing CDL Clearing House, Financial Aid application, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) application, and DOT physical information. CDL applicants will also have their application fee waived on this day on the Coffee Campus when they apply.

The event will be held on the Coffee Campus from 8:00 am-noon or 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the college’s One-Stop Center.  One-Stop staff will be available during those hours to assist. The CDL program has no wait list, nor requires a GED or High School diploma.  Applicants must be 18 years of age and the program takes 7 ½ weeks to complete.  Rodney Baggett, Commercial Truck Driving Program Coordinator, shared that graduates from the program have found jobs locally at places like Williams Institutional Food and Georgia Ag in Douglas.

To learn more about this program and others visit the college’s website at Wiregrass.edu.  The college is currently accepting new students for Fall Semester, classes begin on August 12.
