On August 7, 2024, two Coffee County residents learned that a temporary protective order means exactly what it says – no contact at all for any reason.

According to a report from the sheriff’s office, two individuals, Julio Gonzalez and Misty Harper, were arrested after they allegedly violated a TPO to, as they explained it, help the victim in this incident move. Harper and Gonzalez are mother and son.

The report states that the caretaker for the victim had seen Gonzalez and Harper at the victim’s house on August 4. The victim lived at a Phillips Street address. According to the report, Chief Deputy Fred Cole found Gonzalez and Harper at a home in Cotton Hill Mobile Home Park. They said they were at the victim’s home to help them move. Cole told them both that the TPO did not allow for any contact – even helping him move.

As a result, they were both charged with stalking and transported to the Coffee County Jail. They have since been released.
