Chanterika Mobley, a Douglas native, has just published a children’s book titled “The Day I Found an Alien in My House.” Chanterika was born and raised in Douglas. Shortly after graduating from high school, she joined the US Navy, where she served for seven years. After the Navy, Chanterika graduated from the University of Phoenix with a degree in Business and now has a career as a Financial Management Analyst.

Although she is a newly published author, her passion for writing is not new at all. Her love for reading was heavily encouraged by her mother at an early age, which helped turn that love for reading books into creating her own poems and short story books. Now a wife and a mother to three amazing sons Chanterika has decided to write short stories for her kids to nurture their love for reading.

She hopes to encourage their creativity as they get lost in their imagination through reading her short stories. But their belief in her talent pushed her to share her stories with a wider audience.

Here is a synopsis of “The Day I Found an Alien in My House”” When young Kingsley comes home one afternoon, he’s shocked to find a tiny, blue alien named Novin hiding in his closet! Join Kingsley on an incredible adventure as he befriends this unexpected visitor from another planet. Together, they explore Kingsley’s home, play with toys, and even try to find a way to get Novin back to his galaxy. Full of fun and surprises, this delightful tale of friendship and discovery will captivate young readers. Dive into the pages of “The Day I Found an Alien in My House” to see how Kingsley and Novin’s extraordinary day unfolds!
