A 57-year-old Broxton man has had an eventful last couple of weeks. Frederick Olan Harrison has been arrested three times on a variety of charges, including but not limited to public indecency after he was allegedly found lying naked in a ditch.
According to reports from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, Harrison was arrested on September 19, September 24, and September 30. Harrison’s September 19 arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred on Clough Boulevard when an individual called 911 and stated that Harrison had allegedly driven through his fence and was after the caller’s brother. During the call, the report says that the 911 dispatcher could hear two men in the background; one was saying he would beat someone with a bat while the other was saying he would kill someone.
A deputy responded to the scene. Before he arrived at the location, he noticed Harrison walking down the road. The officer, however, did not know that Harrison was involved in the Clough Boulevard incident. The officer stopped and talked with Harrison, who asked the deputy to follow him. Harrison was walking; the officer was in his patrol vehicle. As the officer was following Harrison, suddenly Harrison turned around and became irate, yelling “F&$% you, take me to jail,” the report says. Harrison then said he was high on methamphetamine. The report states that the deputy asked Harrison more questions and Harrison replied with, “F&$% you, put me in the car.”
The deputy put Harrison in the car but was still unclear as to exactly what was going on. Then he went to the Clough Boulevard address. That’s when he began to figure out what was going on. The deputy spoke with the individual who called 911. The officer also saw a tan pickup that had run through the fence. The caller said that Harrison had come to the house and was acting in a hostile manner, though he did not know why Harrison had come to the property. The report also says that the caller told the officer that Harrison had thrown several things around the property that belonged to his mother, including a moped and other items. The caller’s mother wanted to press charges against Harrison for potentially damaging her personal items.
The deputy called a state patrol officer to assist with the incident and help determine if Harrison was under the influence at the time of the crash. Harrison was inside the deputy’s patrol car and stated that he ran over the fend and was going to shoot up the home, the report says. He also allegedly kept saying, “I’m going to beat his ass,” referring to the property owner. Harrison also said, according to the report, that he was going to get his son to hurt the property owner.
The report adds that the deputy could not establish a motive for Harrison’s alleged actions. It also says that Harrison continued cursing both the deputy and the state trooper.
Harrison was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and acts, criminal damage to property, and pedestrian under the influence.
On September 24, a deputy received a call stating there was a naked man in a ditch near Highway 149 and JL Paulk Road. The officer went to the scene and found Harrison in the ditch with no clothes on. When the officer asked him what was going on, the report says that Harrison tried to answer but didn’t make any sense. He was alternately saying that he wanted to go to his brother’s place then he wanted to go to his wife’s place, the report says.
He didn’t go to either location. Instead, he went to the Coffee County Jail on public indecency charges.
Then to complete the hat trick, a deputy responded Northside Mobile Home Park on September 30 to address a domestic dispute. When the officer arrived, he spoke to several witnesses and the victim. All stated that Harrison had grabbed the female victim by her arm and started jerking and pulling on her because she had spent $7 to buy water with which to flush the toilet. The victim was uninjured during the incident.
Harrison was arrested and charged with simple battery – family violence. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail. Again.
