One individual lost his life as a result of a Thursday night shooting that took place on South Madison Avenue. On November 14, 2024, at approximately 10:13 p.m., while patrolling the area of Pine Street, an officer heard multiple gunshots.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a vehicle stopped in the middle of Madison Avenue. Inside the vehicle they found a male subject who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Officers immediately rendered first aid to the victim, who was still alive at the time. However, despite their efforts, the individual was later pronounced deceased.

No arrests have been made and the investigation remains active and ongoing.

The Douglas Police Department is urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward. Individuals can contact Cpl. Clayton at 912-384-2222 or via email at jclayton@cityofdouglasga.gov. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call the Anonymous Tip Line at 912-260-3600.
