The Coffee Baseball Varsity Team stepped off the field and into the community this past Friday night as they volunteered at Night to Shine, a prom experience for individuals with special needs organized by the Tim Tebow Foundation and hosted locally by First Baptist Church and GracePointe Church. This initiative was part of a new community service program implemented by head coach Scott Grove designed to instill leadership, teamwork, and a spirit of giving back among his varsity players.

As part of the program, each senior player was tasked with identifying a community service project for the team to participate in, reinforcing the importance of service beyond the game. Night to Shine was the first of these initiatives, and the players were honored to help make the evening special for so many in our community.

“Baseball is about more than just what happens on the field — it’s about developing young men of character who understand the value of giving back,” said Coach Grove. “I’m incredibly proud of our players for stepping up and making a difference.”

From their commitment to community service to their relentless effort in practice, these athletes are dedicated to making Coffee County proud—both on and off the field. Coffee Baseball invites the community to come out and support the team as they take the field for their season opener at home. Weather permitting, the season home opener is slated for Thursday, February 13at 5 pm at the South Georgia State College baseball field.
