On February 11, 2025, deputies responded to a 911 call about a motorcycle accident with injuries near Bear Creek Mobile Home Park. It was reported that the victim might be Daniel Crenshaw, a 30-year-old from Douglas.

When the deputies arrived, Daniel claimed he was not involved in any crash and refused medical assistance. However, when the deputies informed him of his outstanding probation warrants, he admitted to being in a motorcycle accident and requested treatment for his injuries. However, Crenshaw allegedly attempted to flee with one hand in cuffs. Crenshaw pulled one of the deputies to the ground, injuring the officer, and ran into the nearby woods.

Additional deputies were called to the scene and managed to catch Crenshaw about half a mile into the woods. He was taken to Coffee Regional Medical Center for treatment and then transported to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, where he is currently in custody.

Sheriff Fred Cole advised citizens that, “If you have an outstanding warrant or are in violation of any law, it is best to take responsibility for your actions. Fleeing can escalate the situation and may lead to more severe consequences. Fortunately, our deputy only experienced a minor knee injury, and Crenshaw did not suffer any further injuries apart from those resulting from the motorcycle accident.”

The injured deputy is currently recovering well and a warrant for felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer is being sought against Crenshaw in addition to his current probation warrants.
