Coffee High FBLA attended the annual Region Leadership Conference on Tuesday, January 28 at Lowndes High School in Valdosta. Members had the opportunity to compete in various events for a chance to attend and compete at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Atlanta in March.
Andrew DiParma and Zorian Sutton placed 3rd in Graphic Design for showcasing their skills in designing and presenting where the design and development process began and finalized to judges.
Tanya Patel, Denise Perez, and Eneida Perez worked together in their Introduction to Business Presentation placing 5th place in their category. They were tasked with presenting a software program as an aid in delivering a presentation in the business field.
Laurel Davis competed in Introduction to Public Speaking, showcasing her skills in developing and presenting a speech on a topic she was given beforehand. She placed 5th in the overall event.
Yolanda Galarza, Dominic Mimbang, and Emma Russ competed in the Sales Presentation. They were allowed to demonstrate their ability as a team to sell a product or service they chose. They placed 4th place in their category.
Xion Bell and Ana Velazquez competed in Visual Design to showcase their skills as a team in designing and the use of design principles. They placed 2nd in their event and qualified to advance to State.
Ayushi Patel competed in Accounting, the event consisted of demonstrating knowledge around introductory competencies in accounting., placing 5th and advancing to State.
Denise Perez competed in Banking & Financial Systems and placed 3rd in the overall event. She demonstrated her understanding of how financial institutions operate and how those operations are important to successful business ownership and management.
Two teams from Coffee High FBLA participated in the Business Management event. Armaan Minhas, William Hutcheson, and Grayson Taylor worked together to understand the importance of successful business ownership and management and placed 2nd. Asmi Patel and Ayushi Patel placed 3rd in the same event.
William Hutcheson placed 2nd in his Economics exam. He demonstrated his understanding of economic concepts and principles.
Taylor Wiggins and Prince Patel competed in the Entrepreneurship event where they had to show their knowledge and understanding of the economic concepts and principles, placing 1st in their event.
Dominic Mimbang competed in Future Business Leader where outstanding FBLA members were required to demonstrate their skills in leadership qualities, active participation, and knowledge for a successful career in business. He placed 1st in his event and will be advancing to State.
Sara Fields and Jessica Mazariegos competed in the event Hospitality & Event Management, placing 5th. The event required them to learn the fundamentals of hospitality management and event planning within industries.
Taylor Wiggins had the opportunity to compete in Introduction to Business Communication. The event required her to test her knowledge of sharing information in and outside of a company. She placed 8th and will be advancing to State.
Emma Russ and Prince Patel competed in International Business. They were tested in the changing network of information, goods, services, and culture, placing 3rd in the event.
Andrea Silva, Addie Ingalls, and Tanya Patel competed in the event Introduction to Event Planning. They worked as a team to gain knowledge in the event planning industry and placed 2nd.
Laurel Davis competed in Introduction to Financial Math which consisted of an objective test that evaluated members’ knowledge of math concepts that are used in the business career field. She placed 10th and secured a place at the state level.
Eneida Perez competed in the event Introduction to Information Technology. She was required to demonstrate her knowledge of introductory competencies of information. She placed 8th overall and also secured a place at the state level.
Xion Bell and Andrew DiParma competed in Marketing. These members had to gain enough knowledge about marketing within the business field. They placed 3rd in their event.
Asmi Patel had the opportunity to compete in the Spreadsheet Applications where she had to show her knowledge of converting data to information in business with Microsoft Excel. She showed her talent and placed 1st in her event.
Last but not least, Jessica Mazariegos competed in Word Processing. She was required to demonstrate her knowledge about the use of word processing software in ways of creating and editing documents. She placed 3rd in her event.
