Mr. John Scott Harrell, age 63, of Douglas, Georgia passed away Saturday afternoon, March 8, 2025 at Emory University Medical Center following a brief illness.

John was born August 18, 1961 in Sylvester, Georgia to the late Vernon Harrell, and the late Jackie Graham Harrell. He was educated in Coffee County and went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy. Following his military service John became an electrician and worked for Fleetwood manufacturing for a number of years. In his recreational time he enjoyed fishing.

John is survived by a son, Dalton Harrell of Douglas, Georgia; a grandson, Eli Harrell of Douglas, Georgia; 3 sisters: Julie Mashburn of Claxton, Georgia, Janet Nolan and Jill Corbitt, both of Douglas, Georgia; 1 brother, James “Jim” Harrell of Douglas, Georgia; along with a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

John’s family will receive friends Wednesday evening, March 12, 2025 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home. His funeral will be held Thursday morning, March 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM at 1st Assembly of God with Rev. Marshall Adcock officiating. Interment will follow in the Douglas City Cemetery.

John’s arrangements have been entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home, Inc.
