Sydney Aldine Bussey, age 76, of Douglas, GA, passed away peacefully at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA, on Sunday, April 27th, 2025, following an extended illness. He was born on November 11th, 1948, the son of Clyde Edward Bussey and Tannie Sylvia Harris Bussey.

His survivors include: one son; John (Jeri Lynn) Bussey of Ambrose,GA, one daughter; Kate Bussey of Douglas, GA, one brother; Gerald (Ruth) Bussey of Douglas, GA, one sister; Sylvia (Brent) Miller of Douglas, GA, nieces and nephews; Dawn Adams, Greg (Reagan) Miller, Jennifer (Marcus) Brown, Brett D. Bussey, and two cousins; Hugh Bussey and Chuck Bussey. He was preceded in death by: father; Clyde Edward Bussey, and mother; Tannie Sylvia Harris Bussey.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, at Sims Funeral home in Douglas, GA, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA, at 2:00 PM, with special speaker Mr. Johnny Wayne Jowers. Interment will follow at the Satilla Memorial Gardens in Douglas, GA.

Active pallbearers will include: John Bussey, Greg Miller, Chris Rowell, Banner Waldron, Chris Alvarado, and Oscar Alvarado.

Honorary pallbearers will include: Brent Miller, Brett Bussey, Jessie Jowers, Mark Holder and William Beecher.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
