Coffee Regional Medical Center earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries, and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.

This marks the fifth consecutive “A” grade for Coffee Regional Medical Center, making it a Leapfrog Straight A Hospital — a distinction that recognizes hospitals for maintaining the highest safety standards across multiple grading periods.

“This recognition reflects the dedication, diligence, and compassion of our entire team,” said Vicki Lewis, President and CEO of Coffee Regional Medical Center. “To be named a Leapfrog Straight A Hospital is a tremendous honor. This accomplishment would not be possible without the commitment of our physicians, nurses, clinical teams, and support staff who work every day to ensure our patients receive safe, high-quality care. I am deeply grateful for the work of every member of our team and their shared commitment to excellence.”

“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to Coffee Regional Medical Center, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections, and injuries. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
