On June 2, 2025, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alleged reported violation of a temporary protective order (TPO) resulting in the arrest of 50-year-old Danny Ray Grantham Jr. for aggravated stalking, a felony under Georgia law.

Deputies arrived at a residence in the county at approximately 6:00 PM in response to a report that Mr. Grantham had unlawfully appeared at a location he was court ordered to avoid. A witness confirmed seeing Mr. Grantham behind the residence shortly after he had reportedly been served with the TPO. When questioned by deputies, Mr. Grantham admitted to being at the property, claiming he was getting something to drink.

Georgia law classifies aggravated stalking as a felony offense when a person, in violation of a court order such as a TPO, follows, places under surveillance, or contacts another person without consent. As defined by O.C.G.A. 16-5-91, as a result of Grantham’s alleged violation, he was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Coffee County Jail, where he remains in custody.
