Fred C. Barrs Jr., age 77 of Douglas, GA, passed away on Friday June 13, 2025 following an extended illness. Mr. Barrs was born on March 19, 1948 in Coffee County, GA to the late Fred C. Barrs Sr. and Beatie Pearl Lott Barrs.

Survivors include: his beloved wife; Linda Sue Barrs of Douglas, three sons; Craig Anthony (Sherri) Barrs of Douglas, GA, Jeffery DeWayne (Kelly) Barrs of Nicholls, GA, Ray (Cheryl) Odum Jr. of Douglas, GA, eight grandchildren; Netania Barrs, Tyler Barrs, Shianna Barrs, Kelsi Barrs, Jason Odum, Michael Odum, Ryan Odum, Chrystal McGowen, several great grandchildren, one sister; Shirley (Gerald “Pud”) Wright of Douglas, GA, along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Barrs was preceded in death by: one son; David Kevin Barrs, one sister; Johnnie Mae Crews, and one brother; Jerry Wayne Barrs.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 15, 2025 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Casey Wright and Louis Lupo officiating. The interment will follow the service at Satilla Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be: Jason Odum, Michael Odum, Ryan Lewis, Chad McGowen, Baily Odum, and Cameron Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers will be: members of the City of Douglas and Coffee County Fire Departments.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
