Mrs. Mollie Petty Burkett, age 83, of West Green, Georgia passed away Tuesday Morning, June 24, 2025, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Burkett was born September 20, 1941 in Tampa, Florida, to the late Thomas Petty and the late Robbie Chaney Pridgen. She was blessed to have a second father that raised her, the late Stanley Pridgen. She was a homemaker and a member of Burkett Baptist Church.
Mrs. Burkett is survived by her loving husband of more than 66 years, Printis Wayne Burkett, Sr. of West Green, Georgia; 2 sons: Printis Burkett, Jr. of West Green, Georgia, Wade Burkett and wife, Wanda, of Douglas, Georgia; 2 grandchildren: Marissa Deeann Shelton and husband, Chris, of West Green, Georgia, Loren Leeann Burkett and wife, Rosa, of Douglas, Georgia; 6 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Louise Griffin of Nicholls, Georgia, Ada Jo Williams of Jacksonville, Florida; special nephew, Wyatt Burkett and wife, Julie, of Blackshear, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Burkett was preceded in death by 1 brother, Eugene Petty; and 1 granddaughter, Samantha Lee Burkett.
A funeral service honoring Mrs. Burkett will be held Saturday morning, June 28, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Burkett Baptist Church with Rev. George Carroll Paulk and Rev. Casey Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Burkett Cemetery with Rev. Craig Thomas officiating.
Active Pallbearers will include Wade Burkett, Chris Shelton, Samantha Shelton, Gregory Shelton, Brennan Hutto, and Nichael Lott.
