A Douglas man who was arrested in May after he allegedly fired multiple shots during a domestic dispute has been arrested again. The incident began when the suspect, Christopher Brent Johnson, 44, of Douglas, allegedly turned right and headed north on Peterson Avenue, which is a southbound one-way.

According to a report from the Douglas Police Department, an officer patrolling the area on June 9, 2025, at around 5 p.m., saw a white 2017 GMC Terrain SUV turn right off of Leon Street on to North Peterson Avenue. The officer initiated a traffic stop and the Terrain turned into the KFC parking lot. When the vehicle stopped, the report states that Johnson began walking toward the officer “in a fast paced manner” and asking why he had been stopped.

The officer told him the reason for the stop, the report says, then Johnson stated that he had a suspended license and an active warrant out of Henry County for failure to appear. He added that Henry County didn’t want him, the report says. However, the officer ran Johnson’s information, which showed the warrant and a suspended license. Coffee County officials contacted Henry County and officers there said that they wanted a hold placed on Johnson.

Johnson was arrested and charged with one-way roadway/rotary traffic islands and driving with a suspended license. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail.
