DPD arrests one in entering an auto investigation

A Douglas man was arrested after he allegedly broke into a vehicle in the middle of the day on June 20, 2025.

An incident report from the Douglas Police Department states that on June 20 at approximately 3:15 p.m., an officer responded to a Kitchens Avenue address in reference to an entering an auto. The complainant had video footage of an individual, later identified as Eddie Bernard Williams, 47, of Douglas, allegedly entering a 2017 Dodge Durango.

While the responding officer was on the scene, he saw a person wearing the same clothing as the individual in the video walking down the street headed to another residence. The officer went to that home and arrested Williams. He was charged with entering an auto or other motor vehicle with intent to commit a theft or felony and transported to the Coffee County Jail.
