A 23-year-old Douglas man remains in jail as a result of an illegal drug investigation between the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and the South Georgia State College police department.
An incident report from the sheriff’s office states that on July 25, 2025, an officer with the SGSC police force contacted the sheriff’s office regarding a subject allegedly selling contraband via SnapChat, primarily THC edibles. The investigation also revealed that the suspect, identified as Antonio Maurice Rolax, Jr., 23, of Douglas, may have an active warrant out of Florida as well.
On July 28, 2025, officers from the sheriff’s office went to Rolax’s home on Burton Road. When they approached the home, they could smell a strong odor of marijuana. Rolax was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Rolax also had an active warrant out of Florida for sexual battery. He was booked into the Coffee County Jail on a fugitive from justice charge for that warrant. He remains incarcerated.
