A Douglas man was arrested and jailed after he allegedly crashed into his girlfriend’s car and then, later, fired several shots from a handgun at her. The two had been arguing earlier, according to a Douglas Police Department report.
On August 10, 2025, at around 12:30 p.m., an officer responded to a call at Jamestown Drive in reference to shots fired. While on the way to the location, the report says that the officer received a ShotSpotter alert indicating three to four shots fired near the intersection of Glendale Avenue and Jamestown Drive.
Once at the scene, the officer spoke with the victim and two witnesses. The victim stated that she and her boyfriend, Alexander Moore, 34, of Douglas, had been arguing at her residence. She left and went a friend’s house. The report says that Moore followed her and rammed her vehicle on Hansell Sears Road. She continued to her friend’s house and Moore followed her, the report says. The argument continued, according to the report, then Moore left “rapidly away from the scene.” Right after he left, they heard multiple gunshots coming from the direction in which he left. Another witness saw Moore fire a gun out of his car, the report says.
More units arrived and began looking for Moore. A deputy with the sheriff’s office found Moore’s vehicle at a Carter Lane address. Officers arrived and spoke with Moore, who denied rear-ending the victim’s car and shooting at her. A search of his vehicle revealed a spent 9mm shell casing but no gun. While investigating the incident at Jamestown Drive, officers found more spent 9mm shell casings.
Moore was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
