A manager at one of the local Dollar General stores has been arrested for allegedly stealing three deposits totaling $7,632.55, according to an incident report from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
The report states that on August 28, 2025, Dollar General’s bank contacted the district manager in reference to missing deposits. The district manager and the regional assets projection manager interviewed Tamika Davis, 51, of Douglas, who was the manager of the store in question.
The report states that during the interview, Davis admitted to taking the deposits from the safe and not delivering them to the bank. According to the report, she allegedly took the first deposit on August 2, 2025. She said she left the deposit in her car and it went missing from the vehicle. She added that she did not report it, the incident report states. Davis then told other employees to leave the deposits open so that she could verify them but used the money from the deposits to make up for the deposits that went missing, according to the report. The other deposits were from August 22, August 23, and August 24, the report says.
Davis was arrested on three counts of felony theft by taking and booked into the Coffee County Jail. She was later released.
