The Coffee Lady Trojans improved to 11-3 overall and 4-3 in region competition after defeating the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets 11-3 on Tuesday. Ella Winters homered for the fourth time this season and Kanlee Douglas kept the Yellow Jackets’ offense at bay with a strong 87-pitch complete game.
The Lady Trojans scored in five of seven innings while never allowing TCC more than a single run in an inning. Coffee scored two in the first, one in the third, three in the fifth, two in the sixth, and three in the seventh. The Yellow Jackets scored their runs in the second, third, fifth, and seventh.
Karlee Thomas was 3-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. Douglas and Winters each had two hits and an RBI. Winters scored twice. Ella Edge and Kia Wilson also drove in two. Allie Pridgen, Thomas, and Wilson each doubled as well.
Douglas had a solid stat line – she gave up four runs (two earned) on seven hits with five strikeouts and no walks.
The Lady Trojans and the Yellow Jackets face each other again today at Faircloth Field for a 4 p.m. doubleheader.
