Douglas police officers jailed a Sanchez Bailey, 33, on several serious charges after he was allegedly involved in a domestic incident with his ex-girlfriend. During the alleged altercation, his ex stabbed him in his arm with a kitchen knife, according to a Douglas police department report.
The report states that on September 13, 2025, at around 3 a.m., officers responded to East College Park Drive in reference to a stabbing. When the first officer arrived, he met with the complainant/victim, who was covered in blood. The blood, however, was not hers but that of her ex-boyfriend, whom she stabbed after he allegedly attacked her.
According to witness statements, the victim was sitting in a car talking to a friend. Her friend’s child was also in the car. The report says that Bailey did not want the victim talking to the owner of the car. He allegedly grabbed her and pulled her out of the backseat and took her into her house. Inside, he began to choke her, the report says. She got away and ran into the kitchen. She grabbed a knife and cut him on one of his arms. Bailey let her go, the report says, but grabbed her again and dragged her into a bedroom where he choked her again.
The report says that the victim had injuries around her neck and upper chest. She was also bleeding from some of those injuries.
In the report, Bailey stated that he never touched the victim and she cut him. Given the evidence at the scene, officers arrested Bailey and charged him with aggravated assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and cruelty to children – 2nd degree. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail where he remains.
