A Broxton woman who has already had one brush with the law this year is back in trouble after she allegedly stole $22.41 worth of merchandise from the Broxton Dollar General.
According to a report from the Broxton Police Department, on September 20, 2025, a Broxton police officer responded to a shoplifting call at the Dollar General. The officer spoke with the manager who had surveillance video of the alleged theft. The report says that the officer recognized the individual, identified as Ashley Brooke Anthony, 30, of Broxton, in the video “from previous contacts.”
In the video, Anthony allegedly scanned several items, bagged them, then left without paying. By the time the officer arrived, she was no longer at the store. Anthony was arrested several days later, on September 24, 2025, and booked into the jail around 10:30 p.m. She was charged with theft by taking and released on bond.
In July, Anthony was arrested and charged misuse of 911 and obstruction of an officer after getting upset that officers wouldn’t arrest her neighbor because her neighbor and her boyfriend caused Anthony’s “blood pressure to go up.”
