Academic Affairs at Georgia Piedmont Technical College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Brittany Palmer as the Dean of Industrial Technologies and Professional Services. Dr. Palmer has served in this role on an interim basis, demonstrating exceptional leadership, collaboration, and commitment to student and faculty success.
Dr. Palmer is a proud native of Douglas, Georgia and a 2004 graduate of Coffee High School. She is a passionate educator and innovative leader with a proven record of advancing workforce education, faculty development, and student success.
She is a double graduate of Georgia Southern University, earning both a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. She continued her academic journey at Walden University, earning a Master of Public Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy and Administration with a specialization in Criminal Justice Administration.
Dr. Palmer began her teaching career in the Coffee County School System before transitioning to higher education as a Criminal Justice Instructor at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. She later joined Georgia Piedmont Technical College, where she has served as a Criminal Justice Instructor at Newton College and Career Academy (NCCA), Program Chair of Criminal Justice and Forensics, and most recently as Division Chair of Industrial Technologies and Professional Services. In these roles, she led multiple programs across multiple campuses, strengthened academic operations, and cultivated strategic partnerships with industry and community stakeholders.
A member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the Order of Eastern Star Dr. Palmer is deeply committed to excellence, collaboration, and innovation in college education. Her long-term aspiration is to continue her leadership journey toward becoming a college president.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Dr. Palmer enjoys watching UGA football, UNC men’s basketball, playing softball, shopping, traveling, and spending quality time with her family. She is married to Charles Palmer (Owner of Palmer’s Hometown Furniture in Commerce) and together they have three beautiful children — Chrenity, A’driyanna, and Charles Jr.
