It was a battle of top 10 teams in Vidalia on Friday night. And the higher ranked team won easily. The #6-ranked CCA Patriots traveled to Vidalia to face the #2-ranked Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles. The Eagles came away with a 64-20 win, dropping CCA to 7-3 overall and 3-3 in region play.

The Eagles were up 36-6 at halftime. They scored 20 in the third quarter and eight more in the fourth. The Patriots scored six in the second quarter and 14 in the third. Quarterback Sam Ables ran for a touchdown and threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Rogers. Jonah Hall ran an Eagles kickoff back 91 yards for the Patriots’ other touchdown. Vidalia Heritage spoiled two of CCA’s two-point conversions. Tyson Crosby, however, did convert one.

The Patriots close the season next Friday night at home against Westwood. Both teams are still in the playoff picture and what happens next week will go a long way in determining their postseason future.
