An alleged domestic dispute that occurred on September 23, 2025, just before noon resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old on battery and false imprisonment charges. Both parties gave differing accounts of the dispute, according to an incident report from the Douglas Police Department. The suspect, identified as Carlton Chambers, 20, of Douglas, stated it was because the female victim put his PS5 in a sink. The victim stated the argument began because she caught him in a lie.
Officers responded to a local apartment complex and spoke with the victim. She stated that Chambers was inside the apartment. Using her key, two police officers entered the apartment and found Chambers hiding in a closet on a balcony, the report states. When questioned, Chambers said that he and the female got into an argument and she put his PS5 in a sink. He admitted to pushing her to the floor and not letting her leave. The report also says that he said he hit her on the arms resulting in bruising.
The victim stated that she had caught Chambers lying. When she confronted him, he pushed her down, causing a cut on her left elbow, the report says. She tried to leave and he wouldn’t let her, the report says. Chambers also hit her on her left arm “so much that it has caused severe bruising and swelling.”
Chambers was arrested and charged with false imprisonment and battery. He was transported to the Coffee County Jail and later released on bond.
