Mr. Chester Allen Murray, age 66 of Nicholls, GA, passed away early Saturday morning, November 1, 2025 at his sister Gail Murray’s residence.  Mr. Murray was born September 26, 1959 to the late Harland Murray, Sr. and the late Viannah Carver Murray.  Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 brothers: Harland Murray, Jr., Albert Murray, Duane Murray, Stanley Murray, Terry Murray and Dale Murray.

Mr. Murray was a native of Coffee County. He was an electrician for Fleetwood. Chester was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Survivors include a son: Joshua Allen Murray of Statesboro, GA; 4 Sisters: Sandra Nelson and husband Tom of Chapel Hill, SC, Pam Smith of Ambrose, GA, Gail Murray of Nicholls, GA, Denise Burkett and husband Keith of West Green, GA, and Scarlett Griffin and husband Ben of Nicholls, GA.  Numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members also survive.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon, November 4, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.  The graveside service will be held after the visitation at Jowers Chapel Cemetery on the Old Axson Road, Pearson, GA at 2:00 PM with Rev. H. P. Murray and Rev. Howard Holt officiating

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Jason Smith, Daniel Smith, Ray Turner, Chad Herrin, Tim Adams and Keith Burkett.

Condolences, kind words, and fond memories may be shared with Mr. Murray’s family at www.ricketsonfuneralhome.com.

Mr. Murray’s arrangements have been entrusted to the kind and compassionate staff of Ricketson Funeral Home of Douglas, Georgia.
