An inmate at Coffee Correctional Facility in Nicholls was released from prison on November 2, 2025, and immediately arrested by deputies on charges out of Alabama.
According to a report from the sheriff’s office, at 4:17 p.m. on November 2, Arsean Ross, 22, of Columbus, was taken into custody and transported to the Coffee County Jail. He was wanted out of Phenix City, Alabama (Russell County), on several charges, including failure to appear on April 17, 2025. He did not begin serving his prison sentence until June 10, 2025, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections website. Ross was serving his sentence for theft by taking, simple battery, and multiple counts of terroristic threats and acts. All offenses occurred in Muscogee County.
Authorities in Alabama indicated they wanted to extradite him once he signed all applicable paperwork.
