The Douglas Police Department is searching for the suspect in the December 11, 2025, non-fatal shooting that took place at the intersection of North Pearl Avenue and Wilson Street in Douglas.
Zion Ja’Quan Smith is wanted on aggravated assault charges in connection with the shooting. He is 5’9”, 252 pounds and was last seen driving a black 2008 Ford F-150.
On December 11, 2025 at approximately 5:36 p.m. the Douglas Police Department received a report of a shooting on the 1100 block of North Pearl Avenue. Responding officers were advised that one individual had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital by private vehicle prior to officers’ arrival.

Note: Smith was located and arrested on Monday, December 22, 2025. He was booked into the Coffee County Jail around 2:30 p.m. and remains incarcerated.
