Irma Ruth Merritt, age 87, of Wray, Ga passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026 following an extended illness. She was born on August 12th, 1938 to the late Leaston Harper and Thelma Batten Harper.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Gail Arnold; six grandchildren, Cory Merritt, Lindsey Merritt, Casey Merritt, Cameron Ray, Chandler Arnold, and Zachary Arnold; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leaston and Thelma Batten Harper; her beloved husband John Harold Merritt; son, Johnny Dewayne Merritt; and brother, Edsel Harper.
Funeral services will be held Sunday January 4, 2026, at 4:00 pm at Bethany Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Merritt and Rev. Floyd Musgrove officiating.
Interment will follow at Bethany Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery.
