Mrs. Gray Virginia Pulliam Lynch, age 106, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday afternoon, January 12, 2026.
Mrs. Lynch was born May 14, 1919, in Leakesville, North Carolina, to the late William Thurman Pulliam and the late Pattie Kate Wilson Pulliam. She spent her life caring for her family. She was a dedicated wife to the late Milton Greenville Lynch, of 43 years at the time of his passing in 1983. Together they raised nine children. She continued to devote her life to her family and Mr. Lynch’s memory for another 42 years before she went to her eternal home.
Along with her husband and parents, Mrs. Lynch was preceded in death by six children: Aubrey Frank Lynch, Donald Delano Lynch, Milton Lee Lynch, Teresa Virginia Lynch Baker, William Beamon Lynch, and Richard Wayne Lynch, along with a grandchild, Aubrey Frank Lynch, Jr. and a brother, Walter Lee Pulliam.
Mrs. Lynch leaves behind three children: Carol Lynch Cunningham and husband Harold of Douglas, Georgia, Alfred Daniel Lynch and wife Sherrie of Baltimore, Maryland, and Melvin Granville Lynch and wife Nancy of Mansfield, Georgia; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren; along with a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
There will be no local services held for Mrs. Lynch in Douglas, Georgia. Her family will gather for a funeral service at Boone & Cooke, Inc. Funeral Home in Eden, North Carolina on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens in Eden, North Carolina, next to her late husband.
